Inspirational story: From recreational player to coach

The journey from a recreational player to a passionate player began with a sports quiz, a free padel class, and with the MultiSport card, the initial passion grew into a beautiful sports story that, through a chain reaction, introduced many others into the world of sports.

Namely, many of us invest in ourselves by participating in various educations, courses, treatments, etc. At the same time we do not neglect physical activity and cannot imagine life without sports and recreation. There are also those who try to include recreation in their daily or weekly schedule. Doing sports raises the level of happiness hormones, strengthens the body, gives a new dimension to social life and brings many benefits.

Robert, our colleague from MultiSport, knows this as well, who often leaves the office on roller skates or races from the garage on his bike, regardless of whether it’s raining or snowing. But apart from enjoying rollerblading and cycling, Robi likes to get out of his comfort zone and try something new. Something that will positively affect his personal growth, increase his circle of friends and acquaintances, and raise his life to a higher level.

A sports quiz in which he won a free padel lesson led him to the sport, which has experienced a real boom in recent years. But even though it was love at first sight, it wasn’t until he took the MultiSport card that Robert “returned” to the padel courts and became a passionate recreational player.

He first transferred his passion to several colleagues with whom he booked appointments and played padel at least once a week. He also introduced his girlfriend to the world of this interesting sport, and she introduced her cousin. His positive attitude towards sports encouraged at least a dozen people to get involved in the MultiSport program and start it.

– Padel attracts people of a wide age range. I played padel with a teammate who is over 55 years old, but also with those who are 18. Playing padel, we have a great time, and afterwards we sit down for a drink, share sports experiences and various stories from life. I became close with several teammates, so hanging out turned into real friendship – says Robi, who decided to go one step further and passed the exam for padel judge, and then for coach.

He is proud that he went from wanting to try something new to motivating other people to do sports. In addition, he is one of approximately 25 padel coaches in Croatia and one of only five referees.

Robi’s story is no longer completely recreational because he goes to tournaments all over Croatia, but he is most proud of the fact that he “infected” others with his passion, and even those who had never practiced before stepped into the world of sports and padel.

He is extremely sociable and what he likes most about padel is that thanks to playing it, he has made a number of acquaintances. In addition, he has networked so much that he can quickly find a teammate of his rank to play with.

And it all started with a quiz and a free appointment and a MultiSport card that opened wide the door to padel and other sports activities that Robert likes to combine.
