Video surveillance of business premises

Benefit Systems d.o.o., Ulica Vjekoslava Heinzela 44, Zagreb, OIB: 57845277445, as the controller of personal data, collects and processes personal data via a video surveillance system. Video surveillance is carried out at the entrance to this business premises. The processing of personal data via video surveillance is necessary and justified for the protection of persons and property in accordance with the provisions of Article 26 of the Act on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (OG 42/18). We use video recordings exclusively for the purpose of ensuring security and checking possible unlawful acts. The processing of data via video surveillance (recordings of people) is carried out on the basis of the aforementioned legitimate interest in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, the Act on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation and the Act on Safety at Work.

Storage of video recordings and persons authorized to access video recordings

We store video surveillance footage for 30 days from the date of its creation. In the event that unlawful conduct is recorded in the video footage, a longer retention period may be conditioned by the implementation of appropriate judicial, administrative, arbitration or other proceedings, of which we will additionally inform you. Access to video footage is strictly limited to a limited number of persons, namely only certain employees employed by the controller. Video footage is stored on a secure server and, if necessary, is viewed exclusively within the building where the controller’s business premises are located. Competent state bodies may also have access to video footage within the scope of performing tasks within their jurisdiction, all in accordance with the regulations governing their powers as well as the regulations determining the rules of procedure in which these bodies act. Video footage is never transferred outside the Republic of Croatia.

Your rights and how to exercise them

Data subjects have the right to request from Benefit Systems d.o.o. access to personal data, rectification or erasure of personal data, restriction of processing of personal data, right to object and right to data portability to the extent technically possible. Data subjects therefore have the right to obtain additional information about the processing of video recordings in which they are recorded, as well as to object to such processing. In the event of an objection, we will not process the video recording further, unless we prove that there are compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that outweigh the interests of the data subject or if this is necessary for the exercise or processing of our legal claims. As regards other rights (e.g. the right to access the video recording and obtain a copy of the video recording or the right to restriction of processing), we note that in certain cases the exercise of the data subject’s rights may be limited (e.g. due to the need to protect the rights of others). Also, the exercise of rights may require prior information from the data subject (e.g. time and place of recording), in order to determine the video recording that relates to an individual data subject.
